THE GIST

A free day with no card, one payment per rental, nothing renewing, and your money back inside 14 days. Everything else is below.

Switching on

What do I need to get going?
A broadband line, a screen that can run apps (an Amazon stick, a smart set, an Apple TV box, a mobile or a laptop) and ten minutes. No dish, no aerial work, no contract.
How fast can I be watching?
During opening hours most people are up and running within a quarter of an hour: the log-in comes by WhatsApp or email, then you follow the guide for your kit.
Do I sign up on a website?
No forms, no accounts. All we ask for is a phone number or email, plus a MAC address if you use a MAG box or certain TV apps.
Will it work on my old telly?
Almost certainly, with a streaming stick in the HDMI socket. Very old sets with only a SCART socket need a small converter; the older TVs guide explains.

The free day

How long is the free trial?
A full 24 hours from the moment your log-in arrives, on one TV set, with everything a paying renter gets.
Do I give card details for it?
Never. It simply switches off after a day.
Can I have it twice?
Once per household. Lost half of it to a set-up snag? Say so and you get a fresh 24 hours.

Rentals and money

What does it cost?
£9.99 for one month on one set, falling to £4.92 a month on the twelve-month rental (£58.99 up front). Every price is on the rentals page.
Will it renew without asking me?
No. Each rental is one payment. On 3, 6 and 12-month rentals we drop you a line seven days before the end; renewing is entirely your call.
Which payment methods do you take?
Card (Visa or Mastercard), PayPal, the Apple and Google wallets, a bank transfer or Bitcoin. Card numbers never pass through our hands.
Can I add another set halfway through?
Yes. Message us and we charge just the difference for the time left.
What if I want my money back?
Within a fortnight of paying, a word from you brings every penny back. See the refunds page.

What is on

How many channels do I get?
Upward of 35,000 live channels and more than 140,000 on-demand films and episodes, all filed into groups beneath a programme guide.
Can you guarantee a particular programme or film?
No, and we will not pretend to. The on-demand library shifts as sources and rights change. Ask us before you pay and we will check honestly.
Can I go back to earlier programmes?
Where the channel’s source offers catch-up, yes; look for the little clock in the guide.
Do you list what is on UK telly?
Yes: airing this week lists new episodes on British channels day by day.

Sport

Why is the Saturday 3pm game never live?
British broadcasters have kept a blackout on Saturday 3pm football since the 1960s to protect attendances. The Premier League page has the detail.
Where do I find who shows what?
Each sport page lists the UK rights holders, the free options and the next fixtures in UK time, with sources.

When it misbehaves

The picture keeps freezing.
Turn the router and the device off and on, move to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi or a cable, and clear the app’s cache. Full steps are in the buffering guide.
The programme guide is blank.
Ask the app to reload its listings, then check the box’s clock is on London time. See the programme guide article.
It says my log-in is wrong.
Paste the details instead of typing, check no space has crept onto the end, and confirm the server address starts http://. No joy? Snap the screen with your phone and send us the picture.

The law and your data

Is any of this legal?
Sending television over broadband breaks no law; the trouble starts with channels nobody licensed. Our law guide lays out the offences and the court cases with sources.
Is the licence fee still due?
It is, for anything watched live on any channel and for every use of BBC iPlayer. The licence guide explains.
What happens to my details?
We keep the minimum, set no tracking cookies and never sell data. Read the privacy notice.
