THE GIST
Our target is WCAG 2.2 at AA. Everything works from a keyboard and with screen readers, pages still read properly at 400 per cent zoom, and stops every animation, including the channel-surfing set and the tape wall, if your device asks for reduced motion.
What works
- A skip link and clearly visible focus outlines.
- The number keys 1 to 9 change channel, and / opens search; both are optional shortcuts with ordinary links alongside.
- Search opens with Ctrl K or /, and works with arrow keys and Enter.
- The TV-set knob on the rentals is a radio group that works with arrow keys.
- The hero has a pause button; it stops when out of view and stays still under reduced motion.
- Every teletext page has the same information as ordinary text and links.
- Text meets AA contrast against the cream background.
Known limitations
- Some poster images are decorative; the title is always given as text beside them.
- Outside websites we point to are beyond our control.
